Frequently Asked Questions

What makes our Matcha special?

Our Matcha is real Japanese matcha from Kagoshima Japan. It has a very delicate flavour which is rich and creamy without a bitter taste. Easy and smooth to drink. The whole tea leave from the tencha plant is handpicked and pulverised in a very fine matcha powder that contains a high amount of antioxidants. Our delicate umami ceremonial matcha is directly sealed to prevent oxidation.

Do I need a bamboo whisk (Chasen) to prepare my matcha?

Using a bamboo whisk (Chasen) to prepare your premium quality ceremonial Matcha is a must. Any other tool you use to whisk your matcha will oxidise your matcha and influence the taste of the matcha.

Is Matcha bitter?

Our Ceremonial grade Matcha is absolutely divine to drink. No bitterness. If your Matcha is bitter, then you probably did not try a good quality matcha yet. We hope to provide you with a whole different matcha experience.

What is 11.11 alcohol-free gin?

11.11 Non-alcoholic spirit is our own alcohol-free gin brand. A beautiful and elegant alcohol-free gin that matches the flavour of our ceremonial grade matcha perfectly. So matcha meets 11.11 in a nice matcha mocktail. Did you know our 11.11 non-alcoholic gin is distilled by full moon for good fortune and energy? Stay tuned for recipes.

Why our handmade ceramics good for preparing your matcha?

Our handmade ceramics are unique handmade cereamic pieces that we design specifically for our first shop: "The Handmade sanctuary". In contrary to machinary made cereamics, our handmade ceramics are perfect for whisking a creamy and frothy matcha. This is due to the structurised surface and bottoms our handmade ceremics have. Naturally minimalistic, japandi and wabi sabi style are key features of our ceramics. They brings serenity in every interior.
