What does Matcha taste like?

Our Matcha, ideal for drinking pure, offers a grassy, creamy, and lightly sweet taste. Brew the green powder at 70-75 degrees Celsius to avoid burning, resulting in a bright, earthy drink with balanced flavors. Matcha is known for its rich and creamy taste with a hint of nuttiness, often described as umami, inviting you back for more sips.

Does Matcha contain Cafeine?

Matcha does contain caffeine, although it’s less than most cups of coffee. On average, a cup of Matcha contains about 70mg of caffeine, in comparison to 100-140mg in a cup of coffee. But as you’ll find out soon, Matcha can keep you feeling alert for much longer than coffee can. Unlike coffee, Matcha does not give you that quick spike and unpleasent dips. It rather stabilises your blood sugar and energy level over a longer period of time.

  • 1. Antioxidants

Matcha is packed with antioxidants (polyphenols) due to its unique production process, which involves grinding the entire leaf, retaining more beneficial compounds. It's among the foods highest in antioxidants, known for fighting disease, slowing aging, reducing inflammation, and potentially preventing certain cancers. Matcha contains approximately 10 times the antioxidants found in green tea, unlike coffee, which has none.

  • 2. Regulating your Energy

Coffee typically causes a swift energy spike and crash because of its rapid caffeine release, leading to potential adrenaline spikes and fluctuations in glucose and insulin levels, resulting in shakiness and hunger. Matcha, on the other hand, delivers a steadier and longer-lasting energy boost due to the gradual release of caffeine, a process moderated by the amino acid L-Theanine. Despite having less caffeine, Matcha can keep you alert for 3-6 hours without the jitters.

  • 3. Calming your nervous system

L-Theanine in Matcha, which moderates caffeine absorption, also promotes calmness and better sleep. This combined with Matcha's gradual caffeine release fosters a serene state. Conversely, coffee can heighten anxiety, with overconsumption increasing worry and physical anxiety symptoms like heart palpitations. Buddhist monks use Matcha for meditation due to its clarity and calm alertness it provides.

  • 4. Matcha is not Addictive

Quitting coffee can lead to withdrawal symptoms like headaches, fatigue, nausea, and muscle pain due to the body craving the quick energy boost coffee provides. However, Matcha doesn't induce the same dependency, thanks to its gradual caffeine release. Skipping Matcha for a few days won't have the same impact, yet its energizing and calming effects might create a positive craving for its health benefits, making you desire more of its goodness.

  • 5. Matcha is better for your teeth

Unlike coffee, Matcha won’t stain your teeth. Even better, it can actually improve your oral health. The antioxidants found in Matcha fight the bacteria that grow in your mouth and cause damage. At the same time, Matcha can reduce plaque build-up and relieve the symptoms of gum disease. Switching to Matcha will mean no coffee breath and better oral hygiene overall.

  • 6. Matcha helps weight loss

Matcha has been shown to improve metabolism and burn fat by tackling weight loss from both sides which will increase higher energy levels and putting you into fat burning mode safely, without raising your blood pressure or cortisol levels. Studies have found that Matcha is particularly good at increasing fat loss when consumed before workouts.
